Wed 26 to Sat 29 Oct, 6pm to 10pm at the Eye of York

A big part of Illuminating York is getting involved.  Whether it's taking part in a community project, trying your hand at new technology, visiting an artist's talk or even being part of the artwork, there are plenty of ways of being a part of the festival.

This year, our first ever DIY will be your chance to tinker with technology.  We think technology should be fun and allow people to be creative, whether they're a technophobe or a seasoned geek.

Guided by a team of artists and inventors from Animated Yorkshire and Jam Jar Collective, try your hand at making animated light pictures and illuminated gadgets.

Come and find DIY in the Information Tent each evening during the festival....and bring a torch if you have one!
