A new light on Charlotte Bronte

Join Caeia March at Explore York Library Learning Centre, Tue 27 Sept, 7pm to 8.15pm

In her haunting novel established author, Caeia March, explores the life-long friendship between Charlotte Brontë and her dearest friend Ellen Nussey.

They met as school girls in 1831 and, after Charlotte’s death in 1855, Ellen had in her possession over 400 hundred letters, some of which are extremely passionate.  But what did the two women really mean to each other – and who burned Ellen’s replies?

Based on meticulous research and with wonderfully evocative descriptions of the Brontë landscapes, Caeia’s seventh novel reveals a hidden history, through real letters from Charlotte Brontë and reconstructed replies from her “dearest Nell”.

Tickets £3.50 for YorkCard holders, or £4.50, available from Explore York,  exploreyork@york.gov.uk, 01904 552828
