Flower power

Sun 17 June, 10am to 6pm starts from Duncombe Place

The Filipino Community nationally come together for their Barrio Festival – a mixture of dance, music, food and custom. A parade from Duncombe Place to Rowntree Park with the girls and boys dressed to perfection carrying their Flower Arches will add colour and spectacle to the event. The festival aims to unite Filipinos around Yorkshire and beyond, and is an opportunity for York residents to experience the Filipines - A land with an amazing blend of cultures. In partnership with YMBA (Yorkshire Maharlika Basketball Association) See ex-PBA Players London Selection Team featuring June Carmona, Mike Mustre and Ruel Bravo play LIVE against a YMBA All Stars Team.

The event has been arranged by Yorkshire Maharlika Filipino Club in association with City of York Council. It is being coordinated by the Filipino Associations of Scarborough, York, Wakefield, Sheffield and Hull, and is supported by the Filipino Communities of Yorkshire, the North East, the North West, Scotland including Glasgow and Lanarkshire, and the Midlands.
